The EASTERN COUNTIES
INTEREST GROUP meets in the AIGS Library on the third Monday of each
month (February to November inclusive) at 7.30 p.m. On 'Members’
Evenings,' we concentrate on assisting members work around any
roadblocks in their research (questions and, hopefully, some
answers!) 'what’s new' on the internet and in the way of other
research resources, and other discussion on family history in general.
Our other meetings usually include a more formal presentation by a
member of the Group. On all meeting evenings we enjoy some light
refreshments, and the Library remains open until 10.00 p.m. so that
members can continue their research in a quiet and supportive
environment. We keep in touch with all our Group’s members, whether on
e-mail or not, with a monthly Newsletter.
If you have a family
connection, however tenuous, with any one, or more, of our five
counties of Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and
Huntingdonshire, then please join us. You are assured of a warm welcome
to our meetings, and AIGS members are always welcome to attend our
meetings on a casual basis. Whatever stage you are at with your
research you will be welcome – you certainly DO NOT need to have
'special knowledge,' 'special interest,' or 'special skills' to join
us.
