As a part of this year's Senior's Festival week, the AIGS will be holding two introductory Family History sessions, on Sunday 5 October from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and Sunday 12 October from 10.00am to 12 noon. Bookings may be made through the AIGS Office.
BYGONE DAYS - Items from the Bygone Days Collection

This is a rare opportunity to see a special display of beautiful Victorian women's clothing together with a number of domestic items from the period 1830-1905.
Three opulent evening dresses of this elegant era will showcase how much attention ladies paid to their evening attire, and one room will feature a display of three vibrant blue bustle dresses.
Please indicate on which day you plan to attend, and whether morning or afternoon. Because this display will be held in a private house, location details will only be provided on registration.

ENTER YOUR FAMILY HISTORY BOOK NOW FOR THE ALEXANDER HENDERSON AND DON GRANT AWARDS
Each year, the Australian Institute of Genealogical Studies (AIGS) presents these two prestigious Awards. The Alexander Henderson Award is for "the best Australian Family History" and the Don Grant Award is for "the best Australian historical biography with a family history focus" submitted for the awards in that year.

August 2014 marks 100 years since the start of the First World War (1914 - 1918). Across the globe, the war's centenary will be marked by millions of people, in places of special importance and in ways that are personally meaningful to them.
Across Victoria, local communities will be able to plan their own memorials and to share in the stories of those who served, through the Victorian Government's ANZAC Centenary web site.
