    Date:   Wednesday 16 April
    Venue:   AIGS Library

In addition to "regular" AGM business of presenting annual reports and confirming the appointment of the coming financial year's auditors, the meeting will hear from Margaret May, Manager VicHeritage & Regional Presence Projects for the Victorian BDM Registry. Margaret will speak about present and future Registry projects.

Councillors for 2014/2015 will also be announced and introduced, and refreshments will be served at the close of the evening's business. Please notify the Office Manager of your acceptance or apology by phone 9877 3789 or via email to info@aigs.org.au.

AIGS 2014 ANNUAL LUNCHEON

Following last year's most successful function, the AIGS will, by popular demand, hold their annual luncheon for 2014 at the same venue. Our guest speaker will be the former Premier and Chair of the 2014-18 ANZAC Centenary Committee, the Hon. Ted Bailleu, MLA.

    Date:   Sunday 25th May
    Venue:   Box Hill Golf Club
                      202 Station Street, Box Hill
    Time:   12.00 noon for 12.30
    Cost:   $50 per head

Your ticket price will include a delicious sit-down luncheon, though drinks during the function will be at your own cost. You will have an opportunity to mix with other AIGS members and friends in beautiful surroundings and also hear the announcements of the winners and entrants of the Alexander Henderson and the Don Grant Awards for 2013, whilst having the opportunity to meet the winners and browse their books.

Click here for a booking form. Print it out to fill it in, then return it by 30th April 2014 or earlier if possible.

August 2014 marks 100 years since the start of the First World War (1914 - 1918). Across the globe, the war's centenary will be marked by millions of people, in places of special importance and in ways that are personally meaningful to them.

For example, the AIGS will be producing a booklet to commemorate the lives of those from Nunawading, Blackburn, Mitcham and Vermont areas who served in WW1. For more information on this initiative, go to our News and Events page.

Across Victoria, local communities will be able to plan their own memorials and to share in the stories of those who served, through the Victorian Government's ANZAC Centenary web site.
