NEW SITE SEARCH -- now powered by Google™!
If you look to the right, you should notice a new Google Custom Search bar that loads with this page. A number of free alternatives were proposed to our former search function, and the one considered most reliable was the one shown here, a custom site search capability provided by Google™, who at present are -- and for some time now have been -- the undisputed world leaders in search.

ANZAC CENTENARY BOOK LAUNCH

August 2014 marks 100 years since the start of the First World War (1914 - 1918). Across the globe, the war's centenary will be marked by millions of people, in places of special importance and in ways that are personally meaningful to them.

Across Victoria, local communities will be able to plan their own memorials and to share in the stories of those who served, through the Victorian Government's ANZAC Centenary web site.

Our contribution has been the launch of "For God, King and Country -- The Great War 1914 - 1919 : They Answered the Call" at Blackburn RSL, Diggers' Walk, off South Parade, Blackburn at 2:30 pm on Sunday, August 3rd.

Cr Helen Harris OAM officially launched the publication, and the Guest Speaker was Dr David Holloway, Former President, Royal Australian Armoured Corps Assoc (Vic); Shrine of Remembrance Medal winner 2011; and Patron of the 4th Light Horse Association.
