Fullerton Family Reunion

Descendants of William and Mary (Dunne) Fullerton, who arrived in Melbourne in 1840 on the Himalaya, are invited to attend a family reunion to commemorate 170 years since the arrival of the family in Australia. Surnames of descendants include: Fullerton, Smith, McCormick, Watson, Holmberg, Tobin, Gleeson, Fox, Brown, Austin, Court, Webber and many more.

Two new publications have crossed the Editor’s desk. Discover Your Scottish Ancestry – Internet and Traditional Resources by Graham S. Holton & Jack Winch is published by Edinburgh University Press and sells for $44.95. The AIGS library will have a copy on the shelves within the next few weeks. With so many researchers trying to do as much as possible from their home computer, the Chapter and Appendix covering Websites will be of great interest. Also covered are the traditional matters of ‘Reading Old Handwriting’ as well as much general historical information that can help members flesh out their family stories.
The second publication entitled Pitfalls and Possibilities in Family History Research by Pauline M. Litton, can be purchased from http://www.pitfallsandpossibilities.co.uk It is a book of 276 pages which not only tells you where to search, but again gives an historical perspective to many of the resources. This book will also be on the AIGS library shelves within the next few weeks.
