North Western Area Meetings

The North Western (Flemington) Area of the Institute conducts monthly meetings on the third Monday of each month at 8.00pm, except for January and December. 

Meetings are free for members of the Institute, however there is a charge of $3.00 for non-members.

The  Venue is: -  Moonee Ponds New Courthouse, Kellaway Avenue, Moonee Ponds  3039.   Mel Ref:  28 J 6

The meeting programs usually consist of a talk by a speaker on a subject associated with Family History, Genealogy or related subject.
This is followed by news of forthcoming events, news of the Institute and related bodies and an opportunity to socialise with other attendees over light refreshments.

Visitors are always most welcome.

Come along to glean a few ideas on how others do their research.
March 5th Eric Panther - 'Family History in Postcards.'
Eric has a very large compilation of postcards which give an insight into families and how they are inter-related. This is a much neglected area of research which often discloses unexpected information.
April 19th Joy Roy - 'Ancestry.com.'
May 17th John Donaldson -  'Family Tree Maker.'
June 21st Rosemary Allen - 'The Anglo-Scottish Border & its Records.'  (postponed)
July 19th Eric Panther - 'Origins of Surnames.'
August 16th Scott Brown - 'Convicts in the Tree - Once denied now desired.'
September 20th Family History Workshop
October 18th

Rosemary Allen - 'The Anglo-Scottish Border & its Records.' (rescheduled from June)
