Wills before 1858 were proved in Ecclesiastical Courts.
The principal ones for Cambridgeshire were the Archdeaconry of  Ely,  Archdeaconry of Sudbury, Archdeaconry of Norfolk,  Archdeaconry of Huntingdon, 
the Commissary and Consistory Courts of London.
The Superior Court was the  PCC. Prerogative Court of Canterbury.  (See England General).
