This year we are proud to present
Dr Madonna Grehan as our guest speaker. She is an independent historian, a registered nurse and midwife, whilst also being an Honorary Fellow at the University of Melbourne. She has also held the CJ La Trobe Society Fellowship at State Library Victoria and the John Oxley Library Fellowship at State Library of QLD. As well as this Madonna is also Vice-President of the Australian and New Zealand Society of the History of Medicine, and a volunteer social history tour guide at the Abbotsford Convent. Her topic will be
“A Caring Miscellany: Nurses, Midwives and Attendants in Victoria, 1840-1940”
During the day you will also hear the announcements of the entrants and winners of the 2016 AIGS family history awards - the Alexander Henderson Award and the Don Grant Award, whilst having the opportunity to meet the entrants and browse their books. You will also enjoy a delicious two course luncheon with many other members and friends.
