Wales and the Welsh Borders Interest Group meets the second Wednesday of the month, 7.30pm at the library. This group is open to all AIGS members who have Welsh ancestry.
If you need help to unravel a jumble of Jones, excess of Evans, deluge of Davies or wealth of Williams then this is the group for you. The old counties of Wales were Anglesey and the shires of Brecknock, Caernarfon, Cardigan, Carmarthen, Denbigh, Flint, Glamorgan, Merioneth, Monmouth, Montgomery, Pembroke and Radnor. We will also include the border counties of Gloucestershire and Herefordshire to which many Welsh people moved and from which English people moved to Wales for work and other reasons.
If you are an AIGS member and have an interest in any of these counties, please join us.

Note: The other counties which are on the Welsh border with England (Cheshire and Shropshire) are covered by the North West Midlands Interest Group.
